Japanese Woodblock Art Reporter Shoulder Bag Tablet Cranes
UKIYO-E WOODBLOCK ART REPORTER/TABLET BAG Minowa, Kanasugi, Mikawashima by Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857. From the series "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, no. 102 , part 4: Winter" Two red-crowned cranes in a marsh, in a scene looking from Minowa and Kanasugi toward Mikawashima (three different villages northwest of the Yoshiwara pleasure quarters). Every year in winter months, when cranes migrated to Japan, the shogun's Crane Hunt was taking place here, in Mikawashima. Cranes are known as symbols of luck, longevity, and fidelity and this made cranes an auspicious ceremonial gift. Aside from couple of birds taken during each hunt, the birds were carefully protected - you can see a figure in the background, carrying buckets filled with rice with which to feed them. - A nicely detailed reporter/cross body bag, that would easily fit a tablet or books & study notes or few every day's essentials! Front cover is printed by the process of dye-sublimation, the most environmentally friendly, sustainable process possible in garment printing and production. - Tablet compatible - Removable printed front flap (on touch fastener) - Fully zippered main compartment - Small zip-up pocket and small pouch pocket inside - Zippered inner pocket under flap - Zippered pouch pocket under flap - Zippered size/width extension - Touch fastener closure - Adjustable shoulder strap - Dimensions: 30 x 26 x 6 cm - Capacity: 4-5 litres
