Japanese Woodblock Art Reporter Shoulder Bag Tablet Fuji San
UKIYO-E WOODBLOCK ART REPORTER/TABLET BAG Hara, Station 14, c. 1842. By Hiroshige Utagawa, from the "Famous Places of the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (GojuSanTsugi-MeishoZu'e)" series (Kyoka edition / Sanoki Tokaido). One of the most striking prints from the popular revisiting of the Tokaido series from the landscape master. Each design features a comic poem called a "kyoka," so these series are referred to as the "Kyoka Tokaido" series. Hara, the 13th (or 14th - depending on edition) station on the Tokaido Road was very important because of its proximity to Mount Fuji, the cultural and religious icon of Japan. The landscape is dominated by the monumental Fujisan, the blue of the skies and white of the clouds really offsetting the pink hue of the mountain. At the forefront, a tall pine, three large houses among trees, a few pilgrim and horse figures on the road are seen - placed there, it seems, just to be dwarfed by the majestic Mount Fuji, rising high above, its summit escaping the print itself! - - A nicely detailed reporter/cross body bag, that would easily fit a tablet or books & study notes or few every day's essentials! Front cover is printed by the process of dye-sublimation, the most environmentally friendly, sustainable process possible in garment printing and production. - Tablet compatible - Removable printed front flap (on touch fastener) - Fully zippered main compartment - Small zip-up pocket and small pouch pocket inside - Zippered inner pocket under flap - Zippered pouch pocket under flap - Zippered size/width extension - Touch fastener closure - Adjustable shoulder strap - Dimensions: 30 x 26 x 6 cm - Capacity: 4-5 litres
