Pre-Raphaelite Art Print Poster Wall Art Waterhouse Mermaid
CLASSIC PRE-RAPHAELITE ART PRINT. - "A Mermaid", by John William Waterhouse, 1900. - This beautiful work is likely to have been inspired by Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem "The Mermaid" (1830) which includes the lines: "Who would be - A mermaid fair, - Singing alone, - Combing her hair" The beautiful mermaid is combing her long luscious hair, lips parted in a siren song, beside her a shell filled with pearls, which some believed to be formed from the tears of dead sailors. - The wet hair ends sticking to her porcelain skin; the gentle curves of her soft body and neatly tucked tail; the wistful, dreamy look in her eyes - all of it creates an image of poetic femininity, dark and captivating at the same time. - Reproduced from an archive image, respectfully and lovingly restored and enhanced digitally, to remove the non-artistic blemishes and colour fading. - A3 print, 297mm x 420mm. (Interior images are shown for styling and illustrative purposes only, not to be used as a precise scale guide. There will be no watermarks on the actual print.) - Printed in England on a 200gsm Eucalyptus paper, made from eucalyptus pulp from sustainable sources. It is brilliant white and smooth and Eco printed with high pigment environmentally-friendly toners. - Supplied unframed, carefully rolled and packed with tissue paper in a strong cardboard tube for safe transit.
